31 Weeks!

I made it another week and am now 31 weeks and 3 days. Not much has changed other than it's HOT and I am starting to swell some. When I get home at the end of the day I have to stuff my feet in my flip flops. I still have 9 1/2 weeks to go so I am worried I won't be able to do much outdoor activity if this keeps up. Thank goodness my cousin's wedding is THIS weekend and not any later. I'm starting to get more uncomfortable. Sitting at my desk all day at work is starting to make my back hurt. The headaches are starting to creep back and those earlier days of exhaustion are back too. Although the nursery is done I feel like there are a bajillion other things to do.

This past weekend for the holiday was pretty low key. Cowboy was in the hay field all day Saturday and some Sunday. We headed to the lake Sunday afternoon for the night. Monday we swam and went out in the boat. Some of our friends came up and we just hung out. It was a nice relaxing weekend for this busy week ahead! Friday is the bridesmaid luncheon and rehearsal dinner and Saturday I will doing wedding stuff all day. I am SO excited Emily's wedding is finally here!! I tried my big dress on yesterday and it was STILL too big so I am picking it BACK up Friday. It's not as horrendous looking as I thought. The color is beautiful and it is super comfortable.

Next Sunday night Cowboy's 9-10 year old baseball team got a suite at the Biscuit's baseball stadium  for their end of the year party. Should be a fun relaxing night.

I don't have a belly picture from 31 weeks but here is one my mom took Monday and some other pictures from the weekend:

This week in Brantley's world, I think she has learned how to stretch. I can feel her in my ribs and way down by my leg. I don't look very big but I feel like she's BIG! Most of the day I am readjusting how I am sitting to accommodate whatever position she is in. Can't wait to go back to the doctor in 2 weeks to check in on her!!

Happy Friday!

We are only working a half day today and things are pretty slow... I am really looking forward to this weekend! Last Sunday I was on a roll and finished washing all of Brantley's clothes and getting her room in order. Last things to do in there is fix the fan and hang things on the wall. My house is pretty messy but when you have two furry children it's impossible to keep clean. It's a love hate relationship because I LOVE having them in the house but as long as I do I know there will be hair... Not sure how this will go over once Brantley comes. If I want to put her on the floor I don't want her to be covered in black and brown hair, but I don't feel like I am going to have the time/energy to sweep or vacuum everyday. We shall see how it goes!

I feel like this week pregnancy really hit me! No matter how much water I drink my hands get slightly swollen. I don't think my wedding rings are going to make it to delivery day :(. I hate not to wear them but I'm scared of having them cut off. I'm sure this is due in part to the extreme heat. I can't imagine June/July. At night I wake up multiple times to go to the bathroom and it takes a while to get settled. Even though I do sleep, I don't feel rested when I wake up. I had a few days this week that felt like the first trimester.... blah. I can tell I'm running out of room in my stomach. It feels like every week or 2 my stomach goes through big stretches to make room. During this time I can't eat as much and my stomach feels really tight. Slightly uncomfortable... I would like to start walking some but with the heat and exhaustion I just don't think I'm able! As long as I'm not laying on the couch all night and every weekend I figure I'm fine. I am looking forward to my shorter time between doctor visits! I'm ready for this girl to be here!

I've come to peace about my work situation. Although all the small details aren't settled I know they will be and everything will work out fine. I've got too much to look forward to to fret over these small details!

My cousin's wedding is a week from tomorrow and I cannot believe it!! I am off next Monday for Memorial Day and next Friday for wedding festivities. I think the short week will give me a much needed mental break. I pick my dress up Tuesday so let's hope Brantley didn't grow too much in a week and it looks ok! From the front I don't look pregnant but when I turn to the side, BAM! It's funny because people have JUST started noticing my bump. It's like she really popped out this week. I just can't imagine how big I'll be over the next 9 weeks!! I refuse to buy anymore clothes! I bought some good dresses for weddings/showers. They are the most comfortable thing to wear.

That's enough random thoughts for today. Happy Friday and holiday weekend!!!

30 weeks!

I went to the doctor today for my 30 week check-up. Normally the 4 week appointments go by fast but I felt like the last 4 weeks crept by. We did an ultrasound to get some measurements. She is weighing 3 pounds 11 oz. ! This is in the 63rd percentile meaning in a room of 100 pregnant women 37 babies weigh more than her and she weighs more than 63 babies. What a chunk! We swapped it to 4D for a minute and she as peacefully sleeping with her hand by her face. Her little lips are so FULL! Can't wait to kiss them! I passed my glucose test but he did tell me to watch my carbs. I only gained 3 pounds from the last appointment! (A lot better then 9!!) Here are my stats:

How far along? 30 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? 25 lbs
Maternity clothes? Mainly maternity dresses. Pregnant in jeans in Alabama summertime wasn't cutting it...I would love to wear a sack around haha
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep? More trouble getting comfortable but not terrible yet
Best moment last week? Feeling her move around and seeing her face on the 4d!
Movement? Lots of movement and hiccups lately
Food cravings? ICEES still and last week dirt cake!!
Gender? Girl
Labor signs? No
Belly button in/out? I don't think it's going to come out but it's flat!
What I miss? Not having to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes....and sleeping on my stomach.
What I am looking forward too? Her being here!!
Milestones? Not really any this week.

I go back to the doctor in 3 weeks. I will go 3 weeks, then 2 weeks, then every week!! I can't believe it's so close. I'm ready for her to be here but am a little anxious about delivery. I'm sure all will go smoothly and I mean look at the outcome, a baby! This past weekend we got the nursery FINISHED other than hanging things on the wall. I get tired much more easily and can't move around as well so I'm glad it's pretty much done.

This past weekend we went to our first wedding out of 6 in a row and by the end of the night I was worn out... My cousin's wedding is a WEEK FROM SATURDAY! I'm headed today to do something with this ginormous bridesmaid dress we have named Bertha.

That's all that's happened lately! Here are pictures from 30 weeks headed to the wedding:

Next bump picture I will wear a tighter top or dress so you can really see her!

Name Game

I haven't dedicated a post to Brantley's name yet. It's pretty self explanatory, it's my maiden name and Ann is in both of our families. So, Brantley Ann it is! I was just searching around on where they posted "Most Popular Baby Names of 2011." I'm not a fad follower and certainly don't think you should name your child after one but that's my opinion. Here is a little snip-it I just happened to see on the name Brantley.

"There aren’t many shockers on the top 10 list this year, but the SSA also tracked some popularity changes for other names. Briella and Brantley were this year's winners for the biggest jump in popularity in the top 500. Briella may be inspired by the blonde hairdresser onJerseylicious and Glam Fairy. And Brantley's popularity might come from John Brantley, a quarterback from University of Florida or country singer Brantley Gilbert. The second fastest rising boy and girl names are Iker and Angelique.
And an oldie but goodie made a comeback on the top 1,000 list: Elvis. The name dropped below the list for 2010, but this year it was number 904."

I don't love stars/athletes/etc. enough to name my child after them. She was certainly not named after a quarterback or singer. I just really like family names. I have heard of 2 other babies named Brantley, they don't live near us, and have had one comment about her name. A guy asked what we were naming our baby and when I said "Brantley" he responded, "Oh, it must be a boy then."
Not that I really care what other people think but I just don't see it as a boy name. It could go either way but I like it a lot better for a girl. At least I'm not naming her something crazy like Apple or Blue Ivey haha. And Elvis? Really??

Everyone have a good weekend!!! Should have some pictures of the nursery up for next week!

4D and an Answered Prayer

We were supposed to do the 4D yesterday but due to another work schedule conflict we had it today (the originally scheduled date). Both of the grandmothers got to come and watch. This time she was awake and moving around. She was really close to the wall so the pictures were kind of blurry. We did get some pretty clear shots. Here is one of the best ones:

You can't tell but her foot was by her face the whole time. I guess they stay scrunched up all the time and are used to it! She opened and closed her mouth a lot and even opened her eyes once or twice. She's got some hair above and behind her ear. Maybe the rest will fill in over the next 10 weeks! Next appointment is a routine one with the doctor. I will find out my 3 hour glucose results then and we should know more about her size.

Yesterday was one of the best days of my life. I'm not going to post exact details yet, not for suspense purposes, but just until all the details are worked out. My point of posting it is to say that GOD IS GOOD. Of course I know this but I just wanted so bad for this particular situation to work out. I've learned over the past few years that whatever happens is the way it should happen. There is a reason and purpose for everything even though you may not see it right away. I have faith in His plan and know that these things I'm going through now are just a small part of his bigger plan. On a sheet of paper in my desk I have a list of verses I read during anxious times. Three things I focused on yesterday were:

"Worry about nothing. Pray about everything."

"He who keeps you will not slumber." ~Psalm 12:13.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." ~1 Peter 5:7

These are such reassuring words to me. Reading them brings me almost an instant calm. Yesterday I witnessed Him looking down saying ,"I told you so!" He probably laughs at us trying to plan out our everyday lives and future.

I just wanted to share that little tid bit because I don't want to forget yesterday. AND WCOV and DirecTV came to an agreement so we can watch all the Fox shows now!!! I know that's minor but I was pretty excited.

Here is a picture of some of the sweet things Grandma Barrett gave Brantley at the ultrasound! She got some burp cloths, onsies, bibs and bloomers with our farm brand and information. Adorable!

That's all for today !

29 Weeks

Yesterday started Week 29! So far I'm still feeling good, my ravenous hunger has slowed a lot and other than hanging things on the walls the nursery is done! Cowboy and I spent some time yesterday rearranging closets and putting in new shelves to make room. I'm not sure where everything will go once she gets here! I'm sure I will change things around 20 times.

Saturday night we had our first "couples shower" given by Cowboy's Aunt Marla and Uncle Johnny. It was good to relax with family and friends even if it was a rainy Saturday night. They just built a new house about a year ago and everything was beautiful! I got my camera back Saturday afternoon so I will post some pictures. Saturday morning after Cowboy's baseball game we played golf. I thought my swing would be horrible but I think Brantley actually helped!

After a full day I thought I would be exhausted but I actually felt ok. I've been waking up the past few nights at random hours wide awake. When I get up for work I feel fine but it would be nice to sleep through the night before I REALLY have to start getting up every few hours! I don't know if this is the "sleepless third trimester nights" they talk about or if those come later. As long as I'm not worn out at work I can handle it.

Tomorrow we go back to the doctor to try the 4D again. I'm going to ask them the results of my glucose test and hopefully we will have some better pictures! Here is a 29 week picture from Saturday on the golf course...

Next week I'm headed to get my bridesmaid dress fixed. Should be interesting to see how it turns out!!

**On a side note, today is my Aunt Judy's birthday !!! I hope you have a WoNDerFuL day! Love you!

3 Strikes - You're OUT!

Today I had the wonderful 3 hour glucose test. I was starving when I woke up but I think since I KNEW I couldn't eat for a while I was mentally prepared and didn't feel too bad. I had my first stick at 8:05. Not too bad other than having to chug the drink again. It seemed much sweeter this time and I had to drink it in closer to 2 minutes than 5. BLAH. The time passed a lot quicker than I thought. I brought a book and got a lot of reading done. Emily stopped by for a little bit since she works right across the street. When 9:05 rolled around for the second stick it was terrible. I just assumed stick the other arm since I had to have it drawn 4 times. She stuck me 3 TIMES and on the 3rd stick started digging around. I always hear people say their veins are bad and they get poked a lot and I've never had that happen. It was pretty painful. So back to the left arm we go. Thankfully it worked ok! The next two times I told them just to use my left arm. I had two different people for the last two sticks luckily and there were no problems! After I left I went to grab some food and felt really light headed. I think I just had a MAJOR sugar crash plus had not eaten anything. I have been so sleepy all day at work. At least that is behind me !

Last night before we ate for Cowboy's dad's birthday we stopped by Lowe's to get materials to put the shelves in Brantley's closets. We realized it was going to cost more (and be a lot more work) than we thought... So we bought these two "racks" I guess you call them, that fit perfectly in the closet! There are 4 shelves and I can also hang clothes on them. If I have time to get them put in and get the closet organized this weekend all we have left to do is hang stuff on the walls !!! We are getting a few pillows made but other than that, it's finished!!! Can't wait to post pictures.

Since I don't like posts with no pictures, here is one of our fur babies!

3rd Trimester and 4-D

Wednesday already?? Whew what a week. I feel like I've been running since getting back from my cousin's bachelorette party this weekend. We went to Cape San Blas and it was amazing! Here is a pic I sent to Cowboy and my mom. They are both oyster lovers. **I did not eat the oyster, just holding for sake of the picture :)

Love this picture. We have so many fun times to look forward to in the future!! Yesterday we had the 4D ultrasound!! Just like the gender u/s I chugged a coke right before to get her moving. She slept through the entire thing! Head tucked, hand by face and all, just chillin'. After 45 minutes of swapping sides, banging on stainless steel bowls, and massaging her, we decided we would go back next week to try again. You can still tell a lot from the pictures! Her cord was right over her face most of the time so her right eye looks weird but we did get a few where you could see her pretty well. She pretty much looks like a miniature Justin! I was shocked at how similar their faces are!! Here she is!

For anyone debating the 4D, I am SO glad we got it! It's amazing how clear her features are. It didn't freak me out at all like the black and white regular one does. The tech said she is weighing close to 3 pounds which is middle of the road! We go back in 2 weeks for my regular appointment and he does another (doctor scheduled) ultrasound to do measurements and weight. She did turn head down but up so maybe she will stay that way!

I can't believe Sunday marked the start of the 3rd trimester! I will post a bump picture soon although  I don't feel like it looks bigger but it definitely feels bigger! I'm still waiting on getting my camera back to take nursery pictures.

On another note, today is Cowboy's dad's birthday! I'm going to tell him he's old now that he's a grandpa ;)
